Both the tyre pressure and tread are key factors in tyre safety and functionality of your vehicle.  Driving with under-inflated tyres causes the vehicle to use more fuel, whilst over-inflated tyres may affect the handling of your vehicle and overall wear of the tyres. Adequate tyre tread helps your vehicle to grip to the roads surface when cornering and braking.

Legally for a warrant of fitness the tread must be 1.5mm across three quarters of the tread pattern around the entire tyre. Check out the MTA website on how to measure your tyre tread.

We offer a range of tyres to suit your budget, all good quality that meet all the road safety standards.

Below is an image from NZTA showing the grip on the road you get from various levels of tyre tread.
